Suboxone Patients Reporting Stomach Pains
ORANGE CITRUS CAUSING STOMACH ISSUES?
If you've been taking suboxone for a long duration and your experiencing stomach pains, it may be caused by the medication. Although it's not official, many patients are speaking out. We've recently talked to suboxone patients all around the state and more then 40% stated that at one time or another, they've experienced stomach pains.
We noticed that most patients pointed to their bottom left rib. Brian, a suboxone patient of 3 years, stated that his pain feels like a stabbing pain, sometimes bringing him to his knees. Other patients confirmed similar symptoms, some reporting a dull pain that doesn't cause much pain, but is annoying.
I talked to Sarah, whom use to be a West Virginia suboxone patient. Sarah is now seeing a doctor out of state because she is unable to take suboxone film. Sarah said that she use to have similar pain when she use to take suboxone tablets. Now that she is on the generic suboxone, she no longer has the pains.
We always urge you to share your mind and experiences to help others. If you're feeling side pains and stomach pains, especially under the left bottom rib, please leave a comment. Please keep in mind, we are not saying that the citrus is causing these issues. However, we are worried. We recently talked to 100 suboxone patients and 39 of them reported stomach pains and side pain. Since suboxone patients abused drugs in the past, it is likely that narcotics caused their stomach pains. Even so, this is something that we want to keep an eye on.

NO FILM IN MY SUBBOXONE PACK!
SUBOXONE FILM IS A JOKE!!
SUBOXONE PATIENTS BEWARE!!
Do you know what the difference is between the suboxone film and the suboxone tablet? The suboxone tablet works and the suboxone film is a joke. I have taken suboxone tablets for a few years and I have never had an issue. Now that I am taking the suboxone film, I have had all kinds of issues. Not only that, I open my suboxone film pack and nothing is in it! What a joke! This is the second time. Plus, when I open the film, it is broke into pieces!
Many suboxone patients that have taken the tablets know that there is a difference between the suboxone film and the suboxone tablet. The film has less power, the effects don't last as long as the tablet does. Suboxone companies want to tell you that the film can't be abused. Bull shit. All the junkies love the film cause a little water and then boom, no worries.
The Suboxone Company will go broke once they change the entire nation over to strips. Yes, the company hopes to have all tablets off the shelves in the next 6 months. Personally, I am going to go to methadone. I won't give the company the pleasure of my thousands of dollars a years. You people are a joke!! The suboxone film is watered down and does not contain the same ingredients as the suboxone tablet. If it did, thousands of people wouldn't be having side effects morons!
If your having trouble with the suboxone film, you are not alone. Once the tablets are gone, the Suboxone Company will raise the prices on the film and you will never see that discount card again. They have had this planned for years. Why couldn't they give us a discount on the tablets? Instead, they wanted to push the suboxone film on everyone and save them $50 dollars. I will not stand for this. The suboxone film is different and it is causing me medical problems. If something should occur to anyone, get yourself a lawyer.
We always look forward to your feedback so drop us a few lines. In all seriousness, the suboxone film isn't helping thousands. The Suboxone Company cares so much that they ware taking the tablets completely off the shelves. I guess the millions they were making a year just wasn't enough. We know all your political moves also, paying politicians to have the tablets banned in West Virginia. Your state will be next. Better speak up before it is too late.
I would like to personally thank the Suboxone Company for their genius of an idea to insert the 10 digit code to help with abuse!! Great job!! You all are very smart for thinking of this, so way too go!! It's not like they can't be taken out of the package and sold, right! A little water and you can even snort them as well as inject them. You all thought of everything though. Way too go!!

Governor Earl Ray Tomblin-Suboxone Law
WE URGE YOU TOO LISTEN EARL
It is no secret that drug abuse in the state of West Virginia ranks high nationally. Prescription pills and other drugs have caused major problems in the state. But thanks to the Suboxone programs ran across the entire state, many have found the help that they need. However, due to a new law signed by West Virginia Earl Ray Tomblin, many patients of these programs now face a new road of the unknown.
On September 1st, it became illegal for any doctor in the state of West Virginia to prescribe suboxone tablets. The law does allow suboxone film to be written, but some patients have trouble taking the suboxone film. With some, the suboxone film causes severe stomach pain, migraines, chest pain, breathing problems, and swelling of the throat.
Many doctors across the state didn't believe that this law was right because it leaves the patients without any options if they can't take the suboxone film. Now, many suboxone patients find themselves wondering where they will now turn. Without the suboxone tablets, many have no other options but to turn to other medications to help with drug addiction.
One option that patients do have is to turn to methadone. But being where many of us are in our current program, we know that this is not an option for us. Methadone is dangerous and it ruins lives. Suboxone is a much safer and more effective drug then methadone. But in the end, what other choice does others have?
Governor Tomblin, we understand why you sign such a bill and your action behind it is very understandable. However, for those who don't follow the program in the proper manner, the suboxone film will be abused just as much. I fear many suboxone patients will turn to harder drugs and that is not good for anyone. It is hard to see someone physically hurt because of the film and talk about giving up after so many years of sobriety. At the least, those that can't take the film should have the option to take the tablets or another form of suboxone that is available.
Many of us hope that you will take another look at this law. I believe that our doctors should be able to voice their opinions being that they have the proper knowledge that is required to make such decisions. We ask for the right for choice, something that every citizen of this beautiful state deserves. As an addict, life is already hard enough. When someone has to choose between pain and sobriety, it just isn't right.
WHERE DO PATIENTS TURN WHEN THEY CAN'T TAKE SUBOXONE FILM?
GOVERNOR TOMBLIN TAKING AWAY RIGHTS OF PATIENTS-I HAVE A RIGHT TO CHOOSE
When West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin signed the new suboxone law into effect, I wonder if he ever thought that as patients, we have a right for choice. Many suboxone patients were happy to have a choice between suboxone film and suboxone tablets because medication effects us all differently. However, with the new law, we no longer have the right to choose which suboxone helps us the best.
Governor Tomblin, I am a suboxone patient that has never abused my medication. Suboxone has changed my life and I am once again a productive citizen of the fine state of West Virginia. I can understand your "thinking" behind all of this, but it is wrong. I have a right to choose which form of suboxone works best for me. I have had bad reactions to the film and I now face a dilemma. When my doctor told me there is nothing that he could do for me, it hurt. I am now afraid that I will follow down the same path I left three years ago because I can't take the suboxone film due to bad reactions to the medication.
I am not perfect and I am an addict, from the same place that you call home in Logan. I have seen what drugs do to family, friends, and loved ones. I don't want to go back to that same place of three years ago. It is said that the suboxone film is not abused, but it is. It is just like any other medication in the world, it has the chance for abuse. This law wasn't thought through and because of that, some have to suffer. With no options other then Methadone, suboxone patients who can't take the film are left in the dark.
The true problem of this drug crisis in West Virginia is with doctors that run pill mills. That is the source of nearly all drug use. If it wasn't for them, a large percentage of addicts would not be addicts. Addiction is a disease of the brain, a powerful one at that. Suboxone has changed my life and many others. Now, all the progress that I have made and others doesn't matter anymore. Is this the way West Virginia treats their citizens.
Just like anyone else, I should have a right to choose. It is no different from others choosing generic or brand name medications. Governor Tomblin, I ask you to reconsider this law and would be happy to discuss anything concerning this matter. I am in the process of making a documentary and interviewing others to post back on this website. Although I am struggling right now, I will do my best. Since taking the film, I have to suffer through severe headaches, bad stomach pain, and chest pains. The suboxone tablets didn't make me feel bad. The only choice I have now is to take the film and hurt. I guess a few more trips to the emergency room doesn't hurt. I only feel this way because I no longer have a choice. I ask you to reconsider this law.
For anyone experiencing similar issues, stand up and be heard. This is an election year and you have the right to be heard. This is not right! You should have a choice on what you take. You don't have to suffer anymore. Together, we can talk to our local government and have changes made. We want this law changed and it is the right thing to do. Suboxone film is abused, probably more then the tablets. We can't help what others do, so why do we have to suffer because of them? That is not fair. Be heard and stand up for what is right!
If you support your rights for choice, be sure to leave us a comment. Make sure you come back to support this cause! Thank you and God Bless.

West Virginia Suboxone Patients Suffering From New Suboxone Law
Suboxone Patients In West Virginia Suffering
August 31st marked the last day that suboxone tablets could legally be dispensed in West Virginia. West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin passed a bill that discontinued the suboxone tablets in the state of West Virginia. Despite doctor's warnings, Tomblin acted on the bill and signed it into effect. Only weeks later, suboxone patients in West Virginia are suffering.
Suboxone has been out since 2002 and it is a drug that helps addicts recover from prescription abuse. Suboxone was always dispensed as a tablet until a few years ago when sub-lingual film became available. This gave suboxone patients a choice as some patients preferred the tablets while other preferred the suboxone strips. However, on September 1st, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin took the tablets away from West Virginia patients and now West Virginia doctors are only allowed to dispense the suboxone film.
Just a few weeks into September, suboxone patients are struggling with the switch. Patients are suffering from bad stomach pains, detox, and even chest pain with the sub-lingual film. Many suboxone patients that were taking the tablets are complaining that the film's affects don't last long as the tablets did. Sadly, others have began using prescription drugs again for the first time in years.
I talked to a patient that has been in treatment since 2009. After 3 years sober, he began abusing Oxycontin again. This is what he stated. "It is not right. I haven't took any drugs for the last three years. I have tried the suboxone strips and they hurt my stomach. When I took the suboxone tablets, I didn't think about using drugs. With the strips, drugs are all I think about. I have two children and I have came along way. I am scared that I will be in the same position as I was three years ago. It is already beginning. I am so scared."
This man wasn't the only suboxone patient that is struggling since the change. Many patients are struggling and fear that they will return to their former behavior, one without care. Too many patients agree that the two drugs are different, yet, the company is sure that they are the same. Patients want Governor Tomblin to rethink this new law that was signed. One patient tells us why.
"Governor Tomblin signed this bill because he thought that it would decrease the abuse. That is a valid thought, but the strips are abused the same, possible more. The strips are being abused just as much as the tablets were, possibly more. You can't stop abuse all around. The strips will go around just like the tablets. I hate seeing it because they have completely changed their lives. Now, many of them are abusing pills and even harder drugs. They feel that nobody cares about them and due to this law, they're probably right."
I never heard of any issues of suboxone patients going back to drugs. Since the law was passed, it seems apparent that there is a big difference how the drug reacts to the brain. I fear that these patients will turn back to drug addiction and this will cause more issues for the state of West Virginia. This law wasn't thought through and these patients have came too far to throw caution to the wind. Since the strips are abused just as much, why take the tablets away. It may be possible that the strips are the real problem.
We urge you to leave comments and explain your reactions to the suboxone tablet and suboxone film. Have you tried both of them? Did you feel different? How are you doing now on the suboxone film? Are you having any stomach pains or other medical issues since changing to the suboxone film?
Governor Tomblin, we suggest that you reconsider this law. If patients are having side effects to the film, they no longer have a choice. If they can't take the film, what can they take? These patients have made a positive change and many are scared that they will return to their former life. Many have already due to the side effects from the suboxone film. They are being pushed away by the state of West Virginia. These patients have suffered enough. They are trying to make positive change in their life. Many of them have. Drug addiction is a disease. Would you take away drugs that a cancer patient needed?
